About SSC CPO

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Central Police Organisation (CPO) Examination is a highly respected national-level test. It recruits Sub-Inspectors (SI) into India's premier central police and paramilitary forces.

Eligibility Criteria

Education

Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

Note for Delhi Police SI (Male): A valid LMV (Car & Motorcycle) Driving Licence is strictly required before the Physical Test.

Age Limit

20–25 Years.

  • OBC: 3 years
  • Ex-Servicemen & Central Govt. Civilians per Govt rules.

Nationality

Must be an Indian Citizen. Subjects of Nepal/Bhutan, Tibetan refugees, and persons of Indian origin are eligible as per specific SSC notifications.

PST (Height): Male: 170 cm (Chest 80-85cm) | Female: 157 cm. (Relaxations available for hill areas/tribes).

Medical & Training

  • Medical Standards: Free from knock knees, flat feet, varicose veins, squint. Normal hearing and dental health.
  • Eyesight: Better Eye: 6/6 | Worse Eye: 6/9. Normal colour vision is required.
  • Delhi Police Training: Intensive classroom & field training covering IPC/BNS, Investigation, Cyber Crime, Traffic Mgmt, Weapon Training, Self Defence, and VIP Security.

Salary & Allowances

  • Pay Level: Level-6 (7th CPC)
  • Pay Scale: ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400
  • In-Hand Salary: Approx. ₹55,000–₹75,000 / month (Delhi).
